Tetra
Description
The TETRA is a 9-foot sailboat designed by Steve Redmond and featured in Tom Hill's book Ultralight Boat Building. This compact design showcases ultralight construction methods using plywood and hardwood, specifically Okoume plywood (6-mil for planking, 12-mil for bottom/transom) with Honduran mahogany structural components including rails, keel, skeg, stem, breasthook, quarter knees, frames, and seats. The boat functions as both a sailing dinghy and rowing tender, emphasizing amateur-friendly construction with classic appearance, superior performance, and quick build times.
