The Ten

The Ten

Description

The Ten (also known as The Ten) is a small 10-foot fiberglass sailing dinghy built by J. Melton Sailboats, Inc. (located in Andover, Ohio) in the early to mid-1980s. J. Melton served as both designer and builder, creating a simple, lively one-design-style daysailer with a soft-chine hull, daggerboard, and rudder—featuring a deck layout reminiscent of the Force 5 but distinguished by its hull shape. Production was very limited; serial number 17 (from a 1984 example) was noted as one of the later boats built, suggesting only a couple of dozen or fewer were completed before the company discontinued operations around 1990.
