Tiki 46
Description
The Tiki 46 (also known as the Wharram Tiki 46) is a 46-foot (LOA 46.0 ft / 14.02 m) bluewater cruising catamaran designed by James Wharram (with Hanneke Boon) and first introduced in 1984. It is a self-build plans design using plywood/glass/epoxy stitch-and-glue construction with lashed crossbeams, deep V-hulls, and optional LAR (low aspect ratio) keels or boards. Plans have been available for decades from James Wharram Designs, with a moderate number of boats built worldwide by amateur and professional builders (exact quantity is not published, but examples include Hull #1 and others used for extended cruising and liveaboard; some professionally finished in places like Thailand or the Philippines). The design emphasizes spacious liveaboard capacity for up to 10 people, safe deck space, slim hulls for easy motion and speed, and simplicity for long-distance voyaging or charter use, while maintaining the Wharram Polynesian-inspired philosophy of shallow draft, low cost, and seaworthiness.
