Toon 2

Toon 2

Description

The Toon 2 is a 15.5-foot (LOA approximately 15.5–16 ft) plywood stitch-and-glue cuddy-cabin daysailer designed by Jim Michalak. It is a plans-built boat intended for amateur builders, with a simple, stable hull form featuring a small, enclosed cuddy for shelter/storage and an open cockpit. No factory production occurred; it is a low-volume homebuilt design popular among the Michalak/duckworks community for Texas 200-type events, messabouts, and protected-water sailing. The boat is lightweight (around 350 lb), easy to trailer or car-top, and known for surprising agility and a good turn of speed despite its "tubby" appearance. Owners report it balances well once the sail is trimmed and handles light to moderate winds comfortably.
