Trapper 300
Description
The Trapper 300 is a 26.25-foot (LOA 26.25 ft / 8.00 m) masthead sloop designed by Bruce Kirby (famous for the Laser dinghy) as a fast dual-purpose cruiser-racer with IOR influences. It was built in fiberglass by Trapper Yachts Ltd. in Poole, England, starting in 1976, with production continuing into the early 1980s. Approximately 180 boats were constructed (including two interior layout variants), many completed from kits, with a notable number exported to Poland as well as sales to the USA and Hong Kong. Keels were available in lead or cast iron (most were cast iron). The boat features solid GRP construction (hand-laid with woven rovings and chopped strand mat), a fin keel with spade rudder, and a practical layout for 4–5 people, offering a good balance of performance, stability, and weekend cruising comfort.
