Traveller 32

Traveller 32

Description

The Traveller 32 (also known as the Rhodes Traveller 32 or Ta Chiao Traveller 32) is a 32-foot heavy-displacement double-ended bluewater cutter based on Philip L. Rhodes’ late-1920s Dogstar design, with modifications approved by Rhodes himself. It was built in fiberglass by Ta Chiao (Taiwan) starting around 1970–1973, with a very limited production run of approximately 13 to 29 boats (sources vary slightly on the exact number). The design emphasizes traditional full-keel seaworthiness, excellent tracking, and comfort for long-distance cruising or liveaboard use. It features a cutaway forefoot long keel with transom-hung rudder, solid construction, and a practical cutter rig for easy sail reduction in heavy weather.
