Trident 24

Trident 24

Description

The Trident 24 is a 24-foot (LOA 24.0 ft / 7.32 m) fiberglass cruising/racing sloop designed by British naval architect Alan F. Hill in the early 1960s. It was the first production model from Marine Construction Ltd. (founded by Eric White in Southampton, UK), with boats built between 1960 and 1974 (some sources extend to 1976). Approximately 250 boats were constructed in total, including both completed yachts and kits for owner completion; early hulls were moulded to Lloyd’s specifications using solid GRP (chopped strand mat and woven rovings in polyester resin). The design offered a choice of keels: single fin or triple keel (fin + twin bilge keels), making it popular for drying moorings and coastal cruising in the UK and beyond. It is a moderate-displacement boat known for its sea-kindly motion, solid construction, and good all-around performance for club racing or family cruising.
