Union Polaris 36 (EO 36)

Union Polaris 36 (EO 36)

Description

The Union 36 (also known as Union Polaris 36, Mariner Polaris 36, EO 36, or closely related to the Hans Christian 36) is a heavy-displacement, full-keel, double-ended cutter designed by Robert Perry. It was built by Union Yacht Co. (Taiwan) from the late 1970s to 1988, with around 160 hulls produced. This boat is a classic example of 1970s–80s Taiwan-built cruising yachts — rugged, teak-trimmed, and built for serious bluewater passages rather than speed or light-air performance. It shares its hull lines with the Hans Christian 36 (a stretched version of Perry’s earlier Hans Christian 34), though interiors and fit-out vary slightly between brands (Union versions are often more utilitarian; Hans Christian ones can be more opulent with higher-grade teak).
