Vagabond 17
Description
The Vagabond 17 Cabin is a 17-foot recreational keelboat designed by Ron Holder and built by Vagabond Boats (USA) from 1976-1982, with 400 boats produced during its production run. This fiberglass fractional sloop features a swing keel configuration that allows for shallow water sailing and easy beaching, making it versatile for both coastal cruising and inland waters. The boat offers sleeping accommodations for four people with a split double V-berth forward and two quarter berths in the main cabin, plus basic amenities including a galley with sink and water tank, and a head located behind a partial bulkhead. Key performance features include positive flotation, aluminum spars, transom-hung rudder with tiller steering, and a bow-mounted stainless steel pulpit, with the design later evolving into the Holder 17 in 1982.
