Valiant 40
Description
The Valiant 40 sailboat, designed by renowned naval architect Bob Perry, was initially built by Uniflite Inc. (USA) starting with hull #101 in 1973, with production continuing under Valiant Yachts (USA) after Rich Worstell acquired the molds in 1984 and relocated to Texas; a total of around 200 boats were constructed through 1992, when it evolved into the similar Valiant 42, earning acclaim as a pioneering performance cruiser with a fin keel, skeg-hung rudder, cutter rig, robust fiberglass (FG) construction, and a distinctive tumblehome canoe stern for superior seaworthiness and speed (D/L 255-267, SA/D ~16).
