Victoria 34 Cutter

Victoria 34 Cutter

Description

The Victoria 34 Cutter is a classic, seaworthy pocket bluewater cruiser designed by Chuck Paine (C.W. Paine) and built by Victoria Marine Ltd. (with hulls laid up by Northshore Yachts) in Warsash, Southampton, UK. Production ran from 1985 to around 2000 (molds later sold to Classic Marine International, which became inactive by 2007), with a modest number of hulls completed — far fewer than the smaller Victoria/Frances series. It is essentially a scaled-up evolution of Paine’s earlier Frances/Victoria double-enders, featuring a moderately long fin keel with skeg-hung rudder, solid GRP hull, and balsa-cored deck, built to high standards (often Lloyd’s spec). Many were configured as cutters for versatile heavy-weather sailing, and the design was popular enough that the UK Ministry of Defense selected it for adventure training (with additional boats for regiments).
