Victress 40 (Piver 40 Ketch)

Victress 40 (Piver 40 Ketch)

Description

The Victress 40 (also known as the Piver Victress 40 or Piver 40 Ketch) is a classic cruising trimaran designed by pioneering American multihull designer Arthur Piver in the mid-1960s. It served as Piver's flagship cruising trimaran design and helped spark the amateur-built trimaran movement of that era. The boat was primarily offered as plans for home or professional builders (often in plywood with fiberglass sheathing or double-diagonal planking), with no single factory mass-producing it. Exact numbers are not precisely documented, but dozens of examples were built worldwide, many by amateurs or small yards (including some in the Pacific Northwest and elsewhere). Completed boats from the late 1960s through the 1980s are still found today, though they vary in quality and modifications.
