Viking 34

Viking 34

Description

The Viking 34 is a Canadian masthead sloop designed by C&C Design (Cuthbertson & Cassian) as an updated evolution of the Viking 33. It was built by Ontario Yachts in Oakville, Ontario, from 1973 to 1982. The boat incorporates a taller rig (about 1.5 ft higher mast), slightly more sail area, and a deeper Peterson-style fin keel with spade rudder for improved performance and better pointing ability compared to its predecessor. It was aimed at club racing and coastal cruising with a good balance of speed and livability in a relatively light, IOR-influenced package.
