Vita Dinghy

Vita Dinghy

Description

The Vita Dinghy (also called the Vita or Vita Dinghy by Joe Dobler) is a simple, lightweight V-bottom pram designed as an easy-to-build, car-toppable sailing/rowing dinghy. It is offered as plans (available from Duckworks for around $20) and is popular among amateur wooden boat builders for its straightforward taped-seam (stitch-and-glue) construction using 1/4" fir plywood. It was created as a practical, affordable tender or daysailer that rows well, sails simply, and can accept a small outboard if desired. It is not a production boat — most examples are one-off or small-batch home builds, with no exact production count available due to its plans-based nature.
