Vivacity 20

Vivacity 20

Description

The Vivacity 20 (related to the Alacrity 19 family) is a small, affordable twin-keel (bilge keel) masthead sloop designed by Peter Stevenson and Des C. Pollard. It was first built in 1963 by Russel Marine Ltd. in the UK (with some later production ties or rebadging involving Hurley Marine and even Catalina influences in marketing). The boat was developed as a compact racer-cruiser for coastal and inland sailing, offering shallow draft for beaching or drying out while providing basic accommodations for a couple or small family. Production numbers are not precisely documented but were modest, with examples still found in the UK and occasionally elsewhere.
