Wasa Atlantic 51
Description
The Wasa Atlantic (commonly referred to as the Wasa Atlantic 51) is a fast, long, and relatively narrow fractional sloop performance cruiser designed by Swedish naval architect Leif Ängermark. It was built by Wasa Yachts (Wasa Marin A.B.) in Sweden starting in 1983. The design was developed for loyal customers of the yard who wanted a larger, more capable yacht than the existing Wasa range (such as the 38, 40, or 370), resulting in a performance-oriented hull with good light-air capability and excellent seakeeping. Production numbers were low (a handful of hulls), and the boat is now quite rare on the market. It features a modern-for-its-time fin keel with spade rudder for responsive handling, a powerful fractional rig, and a luxurious interior with high-quality teak joinery, spacious accommodations for extended cruising, and a focus on comfort and style. The hull is balsa-cored GRP (with special one-piece molding techniques used by the yard), and the boat was built to sail anywhere in the world with a balance of speed and luxury.
