Windward 24
Description
The Windward 24 is a Canadian fiberglass coastal cruiser/daysailer designed by David Hale as a masthead sloop with fin keel and transom-hung rudder. It was built by Windward Marine Ltd. in Canada, introduced in 1973 during the early 1970s fiberglass boat-building boom in British Columbia. The model features solid GRP construction, a relatively light displacement for its era, modest ballast, and basic accommodations suitable for weekend cruising or coastal sailing with sitting headroom and berths for a small crew. It prioritizes easy handling, affordability, and a balance of performance and comfort in protected or moderate waters rather than heavy offshore work. Production details are sparsely documented (as a low-volume regional builder), with an unknown but limited total number completed before the model faded from production. This is distinct from the unrelated plywood Windward 24 daysailer/camp cruiser plans by Karl Stambaugh (Chesapeake Marine Design)
