Laguna Windrose 22
Description
The Windrose 22 (also known as the Laguna Windrose 22) is a small, trailerable recreational keelboat designed by W. Shad Turner (sometimes credited as Shad Turner). It was built by Laguna Yachts of Anaheim/Stanton, California, using solid fiberglass construction with a swing keel (cast iron ballast). Production ran from 1977 to 1987 (with some overlap or rebadging as the Laguna 22 in the mid-1980s), as part of Laguna’s affordable Windrose series of compact trailer-sailers; the exact quantity built is not publicly documented in detail but was moderate within the popular line. It features a fractional sloop rig, basic cruising accommodations (including berths for up to 4–6 in a V-berth, dinette, and settees), and a practical balance of daysailing performance, stability, and easy trailering/launching, making it well-suited for coastal use, club racing, or entry-level family cruising.
