Laguna Windrose 24
Description
The Laguna Windrose 24 (also known simply as the Windrose 24) is a small, trailerable recreational keelboat designed by W. Shad Turner (sometimes listed as Shad Turner). It was built by Laguna Yachts of Anaheim/Stanton, California, using solid fiberglass construction with a swing keel (cast iron ballast). Production ran from 1974 to 1983 as part of Laguna’s popular, affordable Windrose series of compact trailer-sailers; the exact quantity built is not well-documented in public records but was moderate within the line (hundreds rather than thousands). It features a fractional sloop rig, basic cruising accommodations for four (V-berth forward, dinette that converts, and quarter berths), and a practical balance of daysailing performance, stability, and easy trailering/launching, making it well-suited for coastal use, club racing, or entry-level family cruising.
