X Boat 102 Fractional Sloop Rig (X-102)
Description
The X Boat 102 Frac Sloop (commonly known as the X-102) is a successful fractional sloop-rigged racer/cruiser designed by Niels Jeppesen for X-Yachts of Denmark. It was launched in 1981 as the second model from the yard and produced through 1987, with a total of 173 hulls built. The design targeted the IOR 3/4 Ton class upper rating limit (24.55 ft) and achieved notable racing success, winning the International 3/4 Ton Cup in both 1981 ("Soldier Blue") and 1982 ("Lille du"), while also offering comfortable family cruising accommodations including three separate cabins, a center cockpit layout, and a practical interior for offshore use. Construction is in fiberglass with a fin keel and spade rudder; it emphasizes strong windward performance, balanced handling, and a good mix of speed and livability without resorting to extreme ultralight displacement.
