X Boat 1 Ton Fractional Rig (X-1 Ton)
Description
The X-1 Ton (also known as the X-One Ton or X Boat 1 Ton Fractional Rig) is a high-performance fractional sloop-rigged racer designed by Niels Jeppesen for X-Yachts of Denmark. It was produced from 1986 to 1989 (with Mk1 in 1986 and Mk2 from 1986–1989 featuring a redesigned elliptical keel and rudder plus increased sail area) and a total of 24 hulls were built. The design was developed as a pure IOR One Ton racer (targeting the ~30.5 ft rating band) and achieved significant success, including winning the International One Ton Cup in 1986; the same hull form was adapted for the more cruising-oriented X-402 production version with added interior amenities.
