X Boat 372 Tall Rig
Description
The X-372 Tall Rig (also known as the X Boat 372 Tall Sloop or tall-masthead variant of the X-372 Prestige) is a taller-masted version of the masthead sloop-rigged cruiser-racer designed by Niels Jeppesen for X-Yachts of Denmark. Offered as an option within the 1987–1992 production run (total 120 hulls across all X-372 configurations, including standard masthead Prestige and fractional Sport models), the tall rig provided increased sail area for improved light-air performance while retaining the same hull, fiberglass sandwich construction with internal steel frame, fin keel with lead/iron ballast, and spade rudder. It was typically paired with wheel steering and optional teak decks, appealing to owners seeking a bit more power and speed in the cruising-oriented Prestige setup without switching to the full Sport fractional rig.
