Yachtcraft 44

Yachtcraft 44

Description

The Yachtcraft 44 is a rare, classic fiberglass sailboat from the late 1960s–early 1970s, essentially a kit version of the Islander 44 (also known as the Lapworth 44 in some contexts). Like the Yachtcraft 34 and 40 you asked about, it was offered primarily as a kit boat by Yachtcraft (associated with Wayfarer Yacht Corp./Islander tooling). Owners finished the interior, deck details, and systems themselves, leading to variations in layout, coachroof profile, and finish. Some versions had a chopped transom (sometimes marketed as a 41).
