Yorktown 35

Yorktown 35

Description

The Yorktown 35 is a classic American fiberglass sailboat from the mid-1970s (first built 1974), designed by Hank McCune (also associated with the Yorktown 33 you asked about previously) and built by Yorktown Marine Corp. (Yorktown Yachts) in Wilmington, California. Like many boats from the era, it was often sold as a kit boat (hull, deck, and major components provided), with owners completing the interior, systems, rigging, and fit-out. This resulted in significant variation in final quality, layout, and weight — some examples were professionally finished or heavily reinforced by skilled owners, while others reflect amateur work. Several versions existed, including flush-deck and center-cockpit models. It was marketed as an affordable, spacious cruiser suitable for coastal or occasional offshore use, with a focus on roomy accommodations and stability.
