J/105

J/105

Description

Designed by Rod Johnstone and introduced in 1991 by J/Boats in Newport, Rhode Island, the J/105 is a fractional sloop known for its blend of high-performance racing, daysailing ease, and modest cruising capability. Over 680 units have been built, with active fleets worldwide, making it one of the most successful one-design keelboats. It’s celebrated for its speed, responsiveness, and ability to sail well in varied conditions, used in competitive regattas and club racing (e.g., Key West Race Week). Owners love its sprit-launched asymmetrical spinnaker and lively handling but note the minimal interior limits overnighting.
